Our Story
Grid-Jam was established in 2019 following the Iranian drones attack on the Saudi oil fields of Saudi Arabia. The founders immediately understood from the surgical accuracy of dozens of oil tanks and identical hit angle, that this can only be achieved with automatic GNSS guidance.
As veterans Electronic Warfare experts, it was so logical to make a Grid of GNSS jammers ( all GNSS frequencies, for all satellite constellations ) around such critical strategic assets, several Kilometers around, so that a long enough last lag flight to the target will be flown in "dead reckoning" mode, missing the actual center of the target by tens to hundreds of meters, minimizing the damage.
On February 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine but failed to overwhelm the Ukrainian defense. Drones and Missiles attacks on Ukrainian mid country infrastructures followed shortly, most of them using GNSS guidance. Iran offered its help to Russia based on the battle proven Shahed 136 Kamikaze drone.
It was again clear to Grid-Jam engineers that the drone’s usage will prevail over conventional air force and artillery bombings. 6 months later Ukraine reached out and ordered an evaluation and training grid, which was supplied within 2 months.
By this time, it was evident that the Iranian Shahed 136 uses a 4 elements CRPA antenna, that managed to effectively resist all regular GNSS jamming attempts.
The Grid Jam system was tested and approved by Ukraine as potentially effective against Shahed 136 attacks, but surprisingly, they did not order a full grid, stating that "currently" (in late 2023) the anti-air forces are performing well.
Since then, Russia stepped up their Shahed 136 production to 5000 units per month! Ukraine encountered severe anti air ammunition shortage, and its Energy and other infrastructures severely decimated. Ukraine that was an electricity exporter, became fully dependent on imported electricity from its other neighbors, and chances are that the continuing drone attacks, combined with missiles, will bring it on its knees...
Israel was later attacked on Oct 7, 2023, but except several point attacks by Iran, this war was not against a superpower like Russia, and Israel managed to fend the 2-3 drone swarms launched from Iran, taking advantage of its superior multi layered dense air defense system and radars, and active air force power. Single drones launched by Hezbollah and Yemen managed to hit their targets very far from the borders, because Israel did not try or did not manage an effective GNSS jamming, thinking it c...
Grid Jam perfected and diversified its systems since the first delivery to Ukraine, including higher power jammers that can reduce the number of jammers needed for a region or entire country wide grid by a factor of 10, thus making implementation much simpler and quicker.
Additionally, a unique directional antennas array and operation mode can jam GNSS of Ballistic missiles coming from hundreds and thousands of kilometers away, making their entire last flight lag from atmospheric reentry to the target, 50-70 km long, without any GNSS correction, rendering these enormous missiles ineffective because of the degradation in accuracy.
Grid Jam is a unique defense-oriented company that can quickly, effectively and economically solve the latest warfare trends, risks and devastation.
